Who We Are

Meet the Team

  • Steven Madrid

Steven has happily called Cole Valley home for nearly a decade. He previously served on the board of the Cole Valley Improvement Association for several years and has been deeply engaged with the neighborhood’s merchants and local community. When he’s not working as a lawyer, you’ll likely find him out and about in the neighborhood or in Golden Gate Park with his wife, two kids, and their dog Bailey.

  • Debs Schrimmer

Debs has called Cole Valley home since 2015. She can often be found at the Luke's Local deli window with her dog Pax, in search of a piece of cheese. As a 2025 SF Good Neighbor Award winner, she is known for her support of the town square, hosting neighborhood happy hours, and the occasional café in her garage.

  • Sarah Bindman

Sarah is a San Francisco native who is lucky to call Cole Valley home. She delights in exploring the neighborhood's hidden staircases, enjoying the nature close to home and eating a meal in a Cole Valley parklet. She is always looking for new ways to connect with her community and is thrilled that she can apply her professional experience as an urban planner to bringing the Cole Valley Town Square to life.

  • Luke Spray

Luke is a former long-time Cole Valley resident and current Executive Directors of the Civic Joy Fund. He love cities, San Francisco above all others. His work centers on public spaces, where our social, physical, and economic wellbeing all intersect. He believes our most common public spaces are streets as they're the foundation of any city. This makes them ripe for imagination and investment, and the place you're most likely to find him.
